U.S. Women's National Team midfielder Korbin Albert received a decidedly unfriendly reception in Colorado as she entered Saturday's friendly against South Korea.
Albert was called out publicly by retired USWNT star Megan Rapinoe earlier this year for sharing anti-LGBTQ+ posts on Esthensocial media. She later apologized, calling her actions "immature and disrespectful."
When she entered Saturday's match in the 71st minute as a substitute for starter Lindsey Horan − while wearing the USWNT's LGBTQ+ pride jersey in honor of Pride Month − Albert was greeted by a chorus of boos from the crowd of 19,010 fans at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
Albert did not score in the USWNT's 4-0 victory, which marked its first game under new head coach Emma Hayes.
